Some Reminders From The Sunnah

"Sadaqah (charity) extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire."
[ Tirmidhi ]

"Do you not hear? Do you not hear? Simplicity (in life) is part of faith, Simplicity is part of faith."
[Abu Dawud]

"Nothing is heavier in the scales of a believer on the day of judgement than his good behavior. Allah detests a person who is obscene and shameless."
[Tirmidhi]

"May he be disgraced! may he be disgraced! may he be disgraced, whose parents one or both, attain old age during his life time, and he does not enter Jannah (by being dutiful to them)."
[Muslim]

"Look at those who are inferior to you and do not look at those who are superior to you, this will keep you from belittling Allah's favour to you."
[Bukhari and Muslim]

"Anyone who has no mercy for others will receive no mercy from Allah."
[Bukhari and Muslim]

"None of you will be a true believer until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself."
[Bukhari]

'A man asked the messenger of Allah (saw), what in Islam is the best? He (saw) answered:" To feed people and to greet everyone (to say Assalamu Alikum) whether you know him or not."
[Bukhari and Muslim]

".....It is enough evil for a person that he should look down upon his Muslim brother."

"Avoid suspicion, for suspicion is the greatest lie. Do not be inquisitive about one another, or spy on one another. Do not outbid one another with a view to raising the price. Do not feel jealous and do not hold grudges against one another. Do not backbite, but be the servants of Allah like brothers amongst yourselves."
[Bukhari and Muslim]

"Avoid envy, for envy devours good deeds just as fire consumes dry wood."
[Abu Dawud]

"He who has in his heart an atom's weight of pride, will not enter Paradise."
[Muslim]

"Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should either say something good or keep silent." [Tirmidhi]

"The metaphor of someone who stops at the limits of Allah and someone who transgresses them is that of some people who draw lots on a boat. Some of them get the upper deck and some of them the lower. When those in the lower deck want to get water, they have to pass by those above them. Then they say, 'If we were to make a hole in our deck, we would not have to bother those above us.' If they were to let them do what they wanted, all of them would perish. If they seize hold of their hands and stop them, they will be saved and all of them will be saved." [al-Bukhari]

“ When people see an oppressor but do not prevent him from (doing evil), it is likely that Allah will punish them all.”
[(Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]

“ By Him in Whose Hand my life is, you either enjoin good and forbid evil, or Allah will certainly soon send His punishment to you. Then you will make supplication and it will not be accepted.” [At-Tirmidhi]

"Visit the sick person who doesn't visit you when you are sick, and give gifts to the one who doesn't give gifts to you."
[Bukhari]
